The world doesn't feel round When we’re buried we just fall Infinitely down Then I wake up on a sphere again To make the same bowl of oatmeal Ensuring that I'm still sane Post-traumatic stress meal I’m ready for an average day I long for artificial lighting A quiet room without a clock Symmetrical and mundane But planet earth keeps dancing Planet earth keeps dancing When it's finally quiet The highlight reel projects Against my eyelids I wake up as the credits end I need some more oatmeal Before the day begins Post-traumatic stress meal I’m ready for an average day Pretend to feel mundane But planet earth keeps dancing Planet earth keeps dancing Then I wake up tripping out the door The contract in my hand unfurled OooooOoooooooh And when I hear those heavy horns I hope my stomach doesn't curl OooooOoooooooh

Melt 04:02
The further back behind my eyes the less and less I recognize I wade and stumble through the pastel waters to a train that takes me further back along its tracks the less and less I recollecting bending down the knoll each muscle making its break for the tunnel hesitating gaze evading straight ahead my fatal mistake mistake! My body melts into the floor as I leave my human form Voices once in unison now break apart in perfect harmony "Finally, I'm alone. Not held back by pesky skin and bones" I tell myself while sifting through what's left of me like some depressing zoo, unkept and not well-funded maybe I'll admit some fault I guess, but what's the use at this point dropped out of the continuum feeling something close to cold I'm feeling something close to cold I'm running in place slipping on a frozen lake not one step out of place Voices once in unison now break apart in perfect harmony I don't know what it means So perfect, polished, clean!

"Stop, this is a shot in the dark" So what, have we ever seen the light? "Stop, you need to finally grow up" Oh please, we can still be eaten in one bite Growing up is just a false pride Pay for your future in a box Oh god... I can't afford the shipping price I wonder if it's all a heist I wonder if it's all a heist I wonder if I had it right Before I entered junior high When my greatest concern were those gosh darn lines Who can a kid trust When all these old men say, "it's all a bust" I just love you more than the rest Mama, that's the reason why I'm here Without a sustainable career I just don't hold that very dear
4.
30 minutes, or so, of time Trying to shape this floor to my spine Just I and the voices to analyze 'til the mollifying silence of sleep arrives But I can hear them making bets I still wake up in an anxious sweat Crane my neck out to see ahead Of a long line waiting for a comfy bed A comfy bed, an easy death Is all you want to go down well-dressed?

about

Big Buddy is:

Josh Kazebee - songs, vocals, guitar
Levi Nattrass - songs, vocals, bass
Matthew Fildey - guitar
Chris Trimis - drums

"This Seattle band's debut EP is a fine 4-song set of lo-fi, folk-tinged slacker-rock with scuzzy guitars, wry lyrics and catchy song hooks. Try 1, 2, 3 & 4."
- Don Yates, KEXP

"Showing enough variation across the four tracks to keep you fully engaged, as well as offering the occasional rabid flourish to make you wholly, lovingly, endeared, Strange Splendour is exactly that; a warped leap in to a skewed world that picks you up and then spits you back out – woozy, unkempt, and utterly thirsty for more."
- Tom Johnson, GoldFlakePaint

We'd like to give a big thanks to all our parents, Connor Gilmore, Emily Powers, Samatha Brown, Bella Porter, Nate Jarrell, Mr. and Mrs. Trimis, our neighbors in the apartment building next to our house, Dick's Drive-In, and many more whom this EP would not have been possible without <3
